Help Wanted

At its heart, ARLEP is made possible by the generosity of volunteers. No matter your experience or interests, there are a number of ways you can donate your time to serve at ARLEP and help animals. Volunteering with ARLEP is flexible, but volunteers are asked to give a minimum of six hours a month for three months.

Ways You Can Help

  • Dog Care

This may include cleaning kennels and crates and helping with socialization.

  • Cat Care

This may include cleaning crates and the trailer, along with helping with socialization activities.

  • ARLEP Play for Paws

This group was designed to exercise the dogs, help with socialization and expose them to potential adopters. The program focuses on education, exercise and enrichment.

  • Transport

When animals need to be transferred to ARLEP from other shelters, volunteers help with the transportation.

  • Fundraising

ARLEP continues to operate because of the generosity of the community. Volunteers help coordinate fundraising activities and campaigns.

  • Foster Care

Foster families provide a home environment and extra attention to animals that need more hands-on care.

  • Grooming

This helps keep the animals looking and feeling their best, while also ensuring additional monitoring on the animals health and well-being.

  • Shelter/Grounds Maintenance

ARLEP is a busy place. Staying on top of maintenance helps ensure the shelter is running efficiently and providing the best care to the animals.

  • Off-Site Adoption Assistance

Volunteers will help coordinate and manage off-site adoption events with community partners.

  • Administrative Assistance

Volunteers help with bookkeeping, intake paperwork, volunteer information and more.
